The end of August will see me at an in Enchede, Netherlands at "Elmine's birthday bash". It is preceded by an informal conference organised by Ton Zijlstra (Independent Thoughts ) to share stories about our day-to-day working lives - with most people being of the independent consultant-webworker type - and where, for many of us, the boundaries between work and not-work is not always worked out. My contact has mostly always been with Ton who I met once in Amsterdam at a CPsquare event and who stays in my network through Plazes , Dopplr , Flickr , and his blog. He also made a trip over for lunch at the KM4Dev conference in the Netherlands in 2007. The idea of mixing up work and private life to talk about mixing up work and private life is the kind of process that gets me excited am really looking forward to see what comes out of it. In the meantime I'm also intrigued to know what other people in my social circle would say about...:
- what the driving forces are in your work;
- what you struggle with;
- what projects/things you're working on;
- how you connect with other people and sustain these connections;
- what type of organisations, teams, settings you work in;
- how you take charge of your own life;
- how you balance work and private life, or if that distinction still exists;
- how your life has changed, or not, in the past years;
- what your typical day looks like.
- how you create value for yourself in what you do.
